Mark J. Metrokotsas: President & CEO and Chairman of the Board
Mr. Metrokotsas has extensive and wide-ranging experience in the research, development and marketing of animal health care products and has served in executive capacities for major US pharmaceutical companies (Bayer, Bristol-Meyers-Squibb and Merck). He has established national distribution operations and private label product lines as well as directed the introduction of new equine vaccines, equine diagnostics and equine prostaglandins. The majority of his forty-seven year participation in the animal health business has been devoted to emerging products and market development with particular emphasis in the equine and small animal areas.
Clifford J. Alexander: Corporate Secretary
Mr. Alexander is a partner of the Washington, DC law firm of Kirkpatrick & Lockhart, LLP, specializing in corporate and securities law. Mr. Alexander’s practice includes representation of trust departments, investment companies, broker dealers and investment advisers with respect to their organization and structure, federal regulations, ERISA matters, and systems for compliance with federal regulations. Mr. Alexander has extensive experience as counsel to various banking task forces and securities commissions, as well as specializing in investment company and securities law. He has served as Centaur’s Board Secretary and legal advisor since the company was founded.
Dr John H. Abeles, MD: Director
Dr. Abeles is President of MedVest, Inc., a venture capital firm founded in 1980. He has considerable experience in the founding and development of biomedical companies. Previously, Dr. Abeles was a Vice President of Pharmaceutical Research at Kidder Peabody, Inc. and has held senior executive positions at Sterling Drug, Pfizer and Revlon Health. Dr. Abeles has been a Director of the Company since its inception.
Jeffrey O. Boily: Director
Mr. Boily is a serial entrepreneur and investor focused on life sciences. He is the non-executive Chairman of ProteaPex Therapeutics, a firm researching and developing innovative animal health therapeutics. Most recently he was President and CEO of the Center for Animal Health Innovation which focused on identifying and funding breakthrough technologies. Previous to this, he was CEO of BioWizard, a VC funded research and information firm for biomedical scientists. He gained large company executive experience at Abbott, Rogers and Wyeth including Fort Dodge Animal Health. He holds an M.B.A. from the John Molson School of Business, Concordia U., Montreal and a B.S. in biology from the U. of Ottawa. He also serves on the Board of Directors of various healthcare companies.
H.D. Leth: Director
Mr. Leth has been President and CEO of Unavet, Inc., a manufacturer of animal health products since 1987. Board member and partner of Mid America Travel Services since 1992. He has held a variety of sales/marketing and management positions with Monsanto, W.R. Grace, West AGRO, and ICI Americas for 18+ years prior to joining Unavet.
